From STEVE: True worshipers worship in spirit and in truth

Hi friends...I asked Steve if I could post his invitation today because it spoke so deeply to me (and him). An amazing recent blessing has been our soul journeys together. Since September we have been doing Listening Prayer in the mornings together and sharing our invitations. He would tell you he is not a journal-er, or a writer. He is simply receiving what the Lord is serving him and it is priceless. So, I hope you engage with us today. I'd love to hear from you! g

Living Bread

13 Jesus replied, “Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.” “Please, sir,” the woman said, “give me this water! Then I’ll never be thirsty again, and I won’t have to come here to get water.”

“Go and get your husband,” Jesus told her.

“I don’t have a husband,” the woman replied.

Jesus said, “You’re right! You don’t have a husband— for you have had five husbands, and you aren’t even married to the man you’re living with now. You certainly spoke the truth!”

“Sir,” the woman said, “you must be a prophet. So tell me, why is it that you Jews insist that Jerusalem is the only place of worship, while we Samaritans claim it is here at Mount Gerizim, where our ancestors worshiped?”

Jesus replied, “Believe me, dear woman, the time is coming when it will no longer matter whether you worship the Father on this mountain or in Jerusalem. You Samaritans know very little about the one you worship, while we Jews know all about him, for salvation comes through the Jews. But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way. 24 For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”

Steve's Invitation
Feeling of exposure/rawness
Oh My Lord Jesus, how You are able to extract the truth from our hearts. You knew how that Samaritan woman deeply desired fulfillment and satisfaction. She must have been looking for that through her 5+marriages---she wasn't ever satisfied because her focus was on the wrong area. Your Word to her exposed the very essence of her searching heart or sinful heart. Truthfulness about our condition is what You desire to hear from our hearts. You desire for us to worship in Spirit...follow the Spirit that lives in me as He speaks. Don't go forward without His directives. Trust that He will speak to me and lead me. Believe WHOLE-heartedly that He is present and desires to control my life and take me to the place most pleasing to the Father.
Worship takes place everywhere. Not on some mountain nor in some city or building---but on Turnagin Ct./Liberty High School/ in the car/ in the shower/ in an office/ in the backyard, garage, in front of the t.v.; computer; movies; in conversations/ with friends/ family/ alone time. And we're/I'm to worship believing and knowing that Your Holy Spirit is present and holding me accountable for all my thoughts/actions.
The woman was so absolutely open and honest with You. That's what You desire. You invite me this day to be honest and truthful in all of my life. Every phase and area. Thank You Lord that You are willing to take in my sinful soul and desire to transform me. Slice me deep Lord Jesus, that I would be willing and able to extract the deep cancer of sin from my soul. I am willing to go under Your surgery to the very essence of my sin and have it taken out (healed). Today: my pride; ego; my self; is/are an offense to You. I need Your truth deep down. Teach me and lead me about the Spirit's work and the power of truth telling to the ego in me.
Lord Jesus, I picture myself there at the well taking to You. What truth are You speaking to me? What worldly thing do I lust for that is greater that God? That's what You desire to replace with the Spirit and Truth.
